NLR NOC - Change Management Policies

The NLR reserved maintenance window is 0000-0600 hours, local time of the affected area. NLR will take every precaution to contain service affecting maintenance activities to this reserved window; however, exceptions will be made noted as Additional Considerations, below.

All scheduled NLR initiated maintenance will be announced and NLR members notified at least 7 calendar days in advance. This is done via an email to the appropriate NLR network notification listserv(s).

A notification regarding the completion of a scheduled network outage will be sent within 30 minutes following the restoration of service.

Additional Considerations
The following considerations and allowances have been made for performing maintenance outside of NLR’s reserved maintenance window.

     •    Maintenance performed by NLR’s fiber provider/circuit vendor
     •    Emergency maintenance to restore service in outage situations
     •    Emergency maintenance to preserve the overall network health
